Site Changes and Goals For This Year

2025 is here! I’ve had a life-changing experience in January.
Not positive, but it was enlightening about the world.
I don’t know if/when I’d ever discuss it, but it’s part of the reason I’ve been so quiet lately. It’s also inspired my writing/art further. I’m working in the background, and you can see one result of that in the growing hierarchy of pages on this site. A silver lining to close out January is an increase of my productivity.
I’ve created A Dark Corner as a personal space. There you’ll find the Site Blog (you’re reading it now) that’ll contain updates about the site and Olivia Disparo, the creator. O. Disparo’s Dark Dreams is my new YouTube channel where I plan to share my journey as a horror writer/artist that creates mature content. I’ll be sharing the things I’ve learned along the way and my personal thoughts. For readers, there’s be analysis of my own content and my influences.
I create art too, though not as much as I write. I’ve added the Artwork page to display the sketches I’ve done over the past few years, as well as the Inktober prompts that led to the creation of my graphic novel Lessons From A Fallen Empire. 2025 will see new artwork in the form of paintings and sketches for my stories.
Part of my art is taking Photos as part of a personal journal, and I’ll share some of those here. An author photo is in the queue as well.
In 2025, readers can look forward to a number of new things from me as a creator.
My goals for this year are:
1. Create a complete draft for Volume 02 of Native Blood titled Blood Oasis. Once that happens, I’ll estimate a release date. I may share the draft somewhere temporarily for reader enjoyment.
2. Complete my latest quality edits for Volume 01 and update my copyright page, since now Native Blood is registered.
3. Update O. Disparo’s Dark Dreams for the entire year of 2025 with thoughtful entries about the craft of mature horror writing and my own creations.
4. Continue growing the site to provide more information about the stories and me as a creator.
4. Make more art!
Let’s keep it simple for now. I’m open to opportunities and changes along the way. The quiet work will continue, though readers/viewers can always check out the Site Blog or Dark Dreams for my newest updates/communications.
This isn’t goodbye. More of a, ‘See you later.’ 😉
